    What does sugar do to weeds and clover?

    • @organickulture
      @organickulture День назад

      It is known that weeds 'prefer' poor soil because they can spread more easily in it, so sugar will therefore beneficially affect the eradication of clover and weeds. Experts have proven that plain white sugar has a very favorable effect on grass and acts as a fertilizer. Water thoroughly after sprinkling to avoid attracting too many ants🌱

    Hi, very informative video indeed. My lawn soil is very compact. I did grass seedlings three years ago but now only crab grass, dandoliens and xyz weeds left. Lots of crack on the lawn and i'm battling with bamboo rhizomes. I saw your videos and final results which i taken. First i will mow my lawn on very low height and cut all bamboos from surface whom are making seeds. Then i will spray vinaigre all over the lawn and will cover it with black plastic sheet for 6 weeks. Then i will start in july to tilling and add sand on the soil to loose it. Then next steps will come. I want to ask how can i know my compact soil is best for growing a healthy grass how can i test my soil i dont have any check here. And how could i know if i need to set ph or alkaline level of my soil. Or i just start what you recommend.

    • @organickulture
      @organickulture Месяц назад

      If you have very compact soil, then you definitely need to add a 5 cm layer of sand after removing the old turf. Check the pH value of your soil. In clay soils, the pH must not be below 6.5, which you can determine with a pH meter. You can find the device from 13 dollars: Ph/Fertility Tester: amzn.to/3OtJyav If you have the opportunity, add wood ash in late autumn, at the earliest after the second cutting of the new grass. It will break up the clay soil and preserve the necessary elements the lawn needs over the winter. To get started, follow the steps in the video, there will be more videos on repairing alkaline and acidic soils that you can do later. Good luck with your new lawn and thanks for watching 🌱

      Thank you so much for your quick reply, these tips helped me a lot and now I will follow your videos and instructions with confidence. I have another big problem. I have a huge pine type tree in my lawn that is constantly dropping dead pines and also has some fruit that dries up and falls off. I have put new compost under this tree many times but it turns black every time and the grass never grows. Also, I have a lot of neighbours cats in my lawn, they have turned my lawn into a toilet. I have used cat repellants many times but they don't go away. In such a case, if I put plastic foil on the lawn, the cats tear it or damage my raised beds in anger. If there is any help for the trees and cats, then it is good. How do I grow grass under the tree and how do i prevent the cats to come? close Similarly, birds and pigeons visit my lawn a lot and they chewed all my grass seeds last time. I also want a solution from them. If you can tell me a solution, it will be great.

    How to treat if it's acidic soil?

    • @organickulture
      @organickulture Месяц назад

      You can fix the acidity of the soil with ground limestone (as finely ground as possible), special dolomite natural fertilizers for acidic soils, or with ash from clean wood, branches, or leaves. The soil will show a real result in the second year at the earliest. Acidic soils crack and become sticky in contact with water, if that's your case. Greetings 👋🌱

    The problem is that the grass seed BY LAW and permission from the LAW contains 10 to 12% WEEDS seed - HomeDepot, Lowe's whatever - It is not pure grass seed - I am also very suspicious of them adding bugs eggs and grabs etc into the seed 'especially the coated seeds" - THIS way, they will sell you all sort of other products and continue to sell you grass seed year after year and season after season -

    • @organickulture
      @organickulture Месяц назад

      @MrZarcof "I can say that everything is going well! I am grateful for your support and for following my advice. To maintain a healthy lawn in autumn, it is important to remove dead grass (a process called aerification), fertilize it, and avoid mowing it too short (at least 6-7 cm). Additionally, if possible, you can apply organic wood ash to the lawn (up to 5 kg/100m2), at least 3 weeks after fertilizing. This will result in a beautiful lawn next season👌 Best regards and greetings to Argentina."👋🌱

    • @MrZarcof
      @MrZarcof Месяц назад

      @@organickulture Thank you very much for your prompt response, I will do it as soon as possible. Regarding fertilization, what NPK parameter should I consider? What characteristics does the one you apply have? Sorry for asking you, but I tried to see it in the video by zooming in and everything possible and I didn't notice it and I don't think you mentioned it either. Here I have seen two options at the moment, one offers me NPK values (6-15-3) and the other has 82% organic matter, 2% total phosphorus pentoxide, 9% organic nitrogen and water-soluble potassium oxide 2%. Both organic. Regarding weeds, what time of year do you recommend treating them? Or can they be treated at any time of the year? I understand that I should first treat the weeds and then fertilize, right? I saw your video on the application of sugar for them and I want to put it into practice. It should be noted that I have about 600 square meters of green surface to treat. As for the ashes, I also saw your video and I will put it into practice since I have a wood heater and I collect a lot of ash that I have wasted without knowing it.

    • @organickulture
      @organickulture Месяц назад

      @@MrZarcof It would be best to test the pH value of your soil first, using the method as in the video or with a measuring kit (mercado libre) which is approximately 17 dollars and you have a constant view of what needs to be done with the soil. I personally use only organic pelleted fertilizer. It contains all the necessary micro and macro elements needed for a lawn and in combination with wood ash and sugar (not at the same time) you get excellent results of an organic lawn. The composition of the pelleted fertilizer I use has: Nitrogen (N) 2-4% Phosphorus (P2O5) 4.3% Organic nitrogen (N) 2-4% Potassium (K2O) 4.3% Organic carbon (C), bio origin 26% Humidity 15% C/N ratio 00:12 Organic matter: 75% PH value 6-7 Everything that is lacking in pelleted fertilizer, wood ash and sugar makes up for it. First, you treat the weeds, then fertilize and then repair if there are large empty spots on the lawn. Weeds should be cleaned mostly in spring and autumn, because some places will have to be repaired by seeding, and this is best in early spring or autumn, until the temperatures do not exceed 25 degrees. because you will not be able to maintain the repaired places in high heat and there will be whole places that will replenish the weeds again throughout the season. Removing weeds with sugar is a long-term process if there are a lot of weeds, the best results are preventive and it is also good for the appearance of the lawn, which you will not get with any other method. It is best to apply wood ash from autumn to winter, even through winter, until early spring, because it helps the lawn to store reserve substances. In this process, potassium plays the biggest role. If it is autumn in your area, choose a fertilizer with a higher potassium and phosphorus content, and less nitrogen. I hope I helped you, I wish you a beautiful lawn next year👋🌱

      @@organickulture Hi my dear friend Garden Green. Buy the same pH meter you use. I stuck it in the soil and in fertilization mode it gave me 7. In pH mode it gave me 5.25, you could say. I was surprised by these results, I was expecting ugly numbers. Now, to raise the pH you should spread ashes, eggshell powder and sugar, right? How else could I do it?

    Прошу прощения, но по моему это вообще не эффективные советы . Под полиэтиленом ствол начнет повреждаться, а муравье везде спокойно пролезут , им полиэтилен вообще не помеха, давно проверено.

    От муравьев - Гром, "посолил" щепотку, и они всем кланом скукожились. От том делала бандажи на стволах: синтепон проматывала скотчем, липкой стороной наружу. Жара, пыль и трупики муравьев на скотче дают возможность другим муравьям преодолевать препятствие

    Question. Will the sugar attract ants?

      No more than usual, if you water immediately after sprinkling. Test a smaller area to make sure 🌱

    Thanks you for the tips especially the ash. It’s a great idea for prolonging the cooking time.
